HUNTSVILLE – Mae Rogers Jedlicka died Friday, Sept. 10, 2004.

She was born Aug. 8, 1920 in Polk County, the daughter of Charlie and Panola Brown, and grew up in a small town during hard economic times.

The oldest girl of eight siblings, she performed many of the duties in the home – washing dishes, cleaning house and taking care of her brothers and sisters. She saw the economic struggle of many and learned to appreciate the little she had and the importance of sharing with those less fortunate. She was a member of University Heights Baptist Church and was known as someone who shared her Christian faith to all those within her reach.

Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Hill; son and wife, James and Ruth Rogers; three brothers, Jett, Wade, Louis and Marlin Brown; two sisters, Novie Brown and Dewy Virginia Tipps; four granddaughters, Regina and husband Curtis Karr, Laura and husband Ricky Miller, Christi and husband Russell Pfau and Angi and husband John Womack and six great-grandchildren, Bandon Karr, Nicholas Karr, Michael Miller, Ricky Miller Jr., Zachary Pfau and Justin Womack.

Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, Livingston.

Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
