Earlene Pruet Clark, an original beloved educator for 35 years in Texas schools and for family, friends and caregivers for many more years, passed away peacefully at Riverview Nursing Home (her home for the last 7 years) at the age of 91. Born in Putnam, Texas, on December 9, 1915, she was the 3rd of 6 children, and the daughter of John Ellison and Rubye Dell Gunn Pruet. Mrs. Clark taught 3 years in the mid 1940's at New Braunfels High School where she taught science and PE classes. Her first teaching job paid $ 76.00 per month. In the early 1950's, she taught 3 years at Flatonia ISD grades 4 12, teaching PE classes, coached girls sports and sponsored the pep squad. In Rule, TX, in grades 7 - 12 for the school year 1953-1954, she taught history, girls sports and pep squad. She taught in her hometown of Putnam several different times, one year adding 6 man football to her list of duties. She finally moved to her permanent home in Boerne as a coach, sponsor and history teacher at the high school in the late 1950?s and early 1960's. Mrs. Clark spent 10 years driving to Jeff Davis Middle School to teach math in the SAISD. Proceeded in death by her husband, parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Mrs. Clark is survived by her sister Roberta Nell Isenhower and her husband John D, and many nieces and nephews. Her daughter Doris Schwarz and her husband, Glenn. Grandsons: Stephen Schwarz and his wife Kim. Richard D. Schwarz and his wife Esmeralda. Great grandchildren: Aliya C. Schwarz, Davis A. Schwarz, Margaret M. Schwarz, Corey G. Schwarz, Roger G. Schwarz, Aidan J. Schwarz, Nadia G. Schwarz, Sasha L. McNeal, Candice N. McNeal, and Cody T. McNeal. Great great granddaughter Mia Nicohle Martinez. Visitation will be on Thursday, Nov. 8 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be on Friday, Nov. 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Vaughan's Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Sisterdale Cemetery.
