Hazel E. "Nana" Broome, 87, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010.
Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Friday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Hazel was born Dec. 10, 1922 in Stephenville to Walter and Frances Adams. Hazel was the perfect example of a godly woman. She loved everyone, and everyone loved her from the moment they met her. She wrote many gospel songs and sang them in churches throughout Fort Worth over the years. She was also known for her beautiful crochet work. Hazel was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Edwin T. Broome.
Survivors: Daughters, Edwina "Eddie" Harris and husband, Ronnie, and Paula Dennis and husband, Bruce, all of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Brian Harris of Austin, Scott Harris and wife, Lori, Kristi Steele and husband, David, Susan Parker and husband, Charlie, Lesli Hammer and husband, Bo; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
