Leah Sparr, 96, formerly of Farmer City, Mahomet, and Newman, passed away at 1:57 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
She was born May 14, 1913 in Pulaski County, Ky. to Cuda and Pearl Flyn Roberts. She married Hayward Sparr Jan. 22, 1938, in Clinton. He passed away Jan. 3, 1987.
She is survived by a son, Norman (Sandi) Sparr of rural Champaign; two daughters, Sharon (Dan) Johnston of Madison, Wisconsin and Karen (Tom McCoy) Sparr of Murdock; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two sisters, Ruth Abbott of Nancy, Ky. and Lucy Roberts of Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was also preceded by her parents, four sisters and two brothers.
