Former Houston Fire Chief

At the time of his death he held the position of District Chief. Chief Davidson worked the day shift at Fire Station Number 20, the headquarters for District 6 then called in sick. He suffered a heart attack at home.

His first promotion with the department came on November 01, 1912, the position of Lieutenant. On July 01, 1914 he was promoted to Junior Captain, on June 05, 1919, Senior Captain. Two years later on April 21, 1921 he was appointed Third Assistant Fire Chief and on December 15, 1922 was made Second Assistant Fire Chief. After being demoted to his starting postion of Pipeman on May 01, 1923 he suddenly resigned from the department. However, on April 16, 1929 he returned to help fight Houston's fires as First Assistant Chief. In 1933 he was Senior Captain and on March 01, 1934 he became Battalion Chief. His service as the Fire Chief was under Mayor Oscar Holcombe. He was appointed Chief on February 16, 1935 and served that position until January 02, 1939 when he was made a District Chief.
