Run Over and Seriously Injured
Edward Burroughs of 916 6th street northwest had a narrow escape from serious injury yesterday afternoon at the intersection of 6th and K streets. He was run down by a horse and buggy thrown violently to the ground and rendered unconscious.
Burroughs was in the act of crossing the street when the accident occurred, the horse and buggy moving at a rapid gait, going east. Pedestrians seeing Burroughs' danger, called to him, but not in time. The unknown driver kept on, according to witnesses, without making an attempt to stop.
Burroughs was picked up and carried into his home.
It was said last night that the full extent of the injuries will not be ascertained until today. The matter is being investigated by the police.
