Jerry Farris, 77, died Saturday morning at his farm home, two and a half miles west of Denver, a few minutes after he had suffered a stroke. He had been in failing health about a year. He was born in Jefferson township, Bremer county, and lived there practically all his life. Surviving are his widow, also in failing health; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Ong, at home; Mrs. William Meeker, near Waverly, and Mrs. William Ong, Missouri and a brother, Joseph Farris, west of Denver. A son, John Farris, and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Burge and Mrs. Bert Hafer, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 pm Monday at the Mathias chapel in Denver, the Rev. Thomas P. Shaffer, pastor of St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal church, Waterloo, officiating. Masonic rites were observed. Burial was in the township cemetary.
