Leon was the son of Theodore Goodman Lawrence, and Mary (Erwin). His parents were divorced when he and his brother, Theodore D. (Doug) were very young. The father moved to Knoxville, TN where he met and married Trula Frances Lee on Jan. 13, 1945 in Knoxville, TN. Trula was the only mother that Leon and Doug ever knew or remembered. Leon grew up in Knoxville and Memphis, TN, and he moved to California in the late 1950s. He married first Terri (?), and they had three children. They were Lee Lawrence, Teri Lynn Lawrence and Deborah Lawrence. He married second Lucy (Neri), and they lived in the El Monte area. From this marriage was born three children, Debra Lawrence (b. Dec. 14, 1966), Leon Allen Lawrence, Jr. (b. Mar 4, 1968 - d. May 9, 1985), and Carolyn Lawrence (b. Apr. 10, 1971.) Leon was a security officer at the World Trade Center in Los Angeles. His early death was caused by bilateral pneumonia and kidney failure.
