He was engaged in ranching in the Eliasville area for many years. Mr. Allen worked for Precinct 3 in Stephens County for 25 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Eliasville Masonic Lodge No. 1175 and served as Past Worshipful Master. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and served as Past Nobel Grand. Mr. Allen was a member of the Eastern Star and served as a Worthy Patron. He was a deacon in the Eliasville Baptist Church.
Survived by his wife; one daughter - Mrs. William C "Gladys" Davis, Jr; two sons - Garlon E Allen and Billie Joe Allen; one sister - Mrs. Gene Milam; two brothers - Jim Allen and Tom Allen; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
