Lydia M'Connell Dies Wednesday In Local Hospital
Mrs. Lydia Pauline McConnell, a resident in this area for the past 84 years, died last evening in the Yavapai County hospital following a prolonged illness. Since coming to Arizona in 1915, she had made her home in the Wagoner and Prescott vicinities. The deceased was born in Texas on Nov. 12, 1888.
Mrs. McConnell is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Edna Bradfield of Prescott, Lydia Pauline Shields of Wagoner, and Mrs. Iola Posey of Mayer and by two sons, Oliver W. Calkins of Castle Hot Springs, and Donald F. Calkins of Wagoner. Her immediate family also includes a sister, Florence Strahen of Rochester, N.Y., and two brothers, Louis Meador of Yarnell and Ambrose Meador of Calpella, Calif.
The funeral service will be held on Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Lester Ruffner funeral home with the Rev. Hal B. Dallke of the Methodist church officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View cemetery.
Mrs. McConnell will lie in state at the Ruffner funeral home Saturday morning between 10 a.m. 12 noon.
