William Pantry came to New England in the same ship with Samuel Greenhill, TIMOTHY STANLEY, Simon Willard, etc. He was in Cambridge, MA. in 1634 and was a Mass. freeman in 1635. He removed in 1636 to Hartford where he was an early member of the First Church and an original proprietor. His name is on the Founder's Memorial in the Center Church Graveyard. In 1639, his homelot was on what was later called Front Street between the homelots of James Olmsted and Thomas Scott. He was a townsman ((1641-1645), a constable in 1649, and one of the wealthiest of the original planters. His inventory was taken Nov. 29, 1649 and amounted to 1011 pounds and 10 shillings. He was survived by his wife, Margaret.
