A funeral service for Agnes Rosetta Williams, 87, will be held Saturday, May 31, 3 p.m. at the Big Pine Cemetery in Big Pine. A visitation will take place Friday, May 30, 1 p.m. at the Palm Springs Mortuary in Cathedral City.
Mrs. Williams, of Thousand Palms, and formerly of Big Pine, was born April 26, 1916 to Charles L. Dillenback and Lily J. Hansen in Oasis, Utah, and died May 26, 2003 in Indio.
Agnes came to California from Utah when she was a teenager, and graduated from University High School in West L.A. where she met and later married her high school sweetheart, Frank W. Williams, on July 24, 1934. They lived in the West L. A. area until moving to the San Fernando Valley in 1955. She was a member of the Canoga Park Emblem Club and during her life was a co-owner of meat and grocery stores.
Frank and Agnes retired to June Lake, Bishop, and Big Pine before moving to Thousand Palms.
Agnes is survived by husband, Frank; sister, Norma Cox of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Joe Dillenback of Roseland, N.J.; children, Bernice Russell of Rancho Mirage, Calif., Gailine Williams of Torry, Utah, Deanna Sassaman of Auburn, Calif., and Judith Luellen of Kingsland, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Chuck and Gayland Dillenback, and two sisters, Gertrude Shirley and Bernice Dillenbeck.
Donations in Agnes; name may be made to the charity of one's choice, or for Parkinson's research.
