H. Isabelle Peterson, age 82, passed away on Sunday at Skaalen Home, in Stoughton. She was born the daughter of Lawrence & Helen (Overn) Wene. Isabelle graduated from Stoughton High School, and was the valedictorian of her class. On Sept. 8, 1946, she was united in marriage to Herbert Peterson. Isabelle loved her work as registrar, at the UW-Madison Medical School, where she was adored by the students, and where a room and a scholarship were dedicated in her name. From 1967-1999, she also worked with Herb, managing the business side of Peterson's Service Station, in Stoughton. Isabelle was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was a role model to them all. She is survived by three children, Jim (Chris) Peterson, Christine (Michael) Dunn, and Karen (Paul) Moss; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, JoAnn Lynch and Georgia (James) DeBolt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herb, in 2004. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at Skaalen Home Chapel, Stoughton, with the Rev. James Koza officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Stoughton. The family will greet friends at SKAALEN CHAPEL, on Wednesday, from 10 a.m., until the time of service. Following services, a luncheon will be held at the STOUGHTON AMERICAN LEGION HALL, In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the H. Isabelle Peterson Healthcare Education Scholarship Fund, in care of the family. Special thanks to the staff of Friendship Circle at Skaalen Home. Olson-Holzhuter-Cress, Stoughton assisted the family.
