Jack Phillips, 83, of Claremont, passed away on November 22, 2009 in Big Bear Lake. 40 days after his oldest son & 23 days after his wife.
He was born January 9, 1926 in California in Los Angeles County and was a Claremont resident for forty-seven years before moving to Big Bear.
He worked on the corner of Holt and Towne in Pomona at the Union 76 gas station as a kid, years later he bought the business and spent close to fifty years there until he retired. He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa McCutcheon, son, Jeff Phillips, daughters-in-law, Cindy Phillips and Lori Phillips, son-in-law, Dennis McCutcheon, brother, Don Phillips, grandchildren, Melissa Souza, Brandon Laird, Stephanie, Kevin and Connor McCutcheon, Breanne Beliveau and Danielle Phillips, and great-grandchildren, Jordyn, and Delaney. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-two years, Marilyn, and his son, Randy.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2010 at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside.
