Daniel Walter Brown was born in Rayne Township, Indiana County, Pa. to parents John Milton Little Brown(1862-1946) and Amanda Jane Ruffner(1863-1950).

He was one of 13 children all raised in Indiana County.
Daniel married Ella Pauline Dickey 28 Dec 1910 in Westmoreland County , Pa. They would have six children together: Paul(1912-1975), Fred, Joanne, Donald(1916-1983) Robert and Daniel Wendell (1926-1933).

Daniel died on November 11, 1980 and is laid to rest along side his wife Pauline in Oakland/Oakgrove Cemetery, White Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
