William Bobby Knox, 63, born 27 Dec1933, of Folkston, died Saturday night, 21 Dec 1997, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL, following a brief illness.

A native of Brantley County, he was a son of the late Bill William Knox and Mary Crews Knox. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Ann Aldridge.

He was retired from the U. S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of Ashley Lodge #96 F & A M, St. Augustine, FL.

Survivors are a daughter, Karen Lynn Lanier of St. Augustine, FL; two sons, William Craig Knox of Folkston, and Terry Joe Knox of Blackshear; two sisters, Myrtle Hickox of Nahunta and Ruby Thompson of Lancaster, SC; two brothers, Virgil Knox of Nahunta and Thomas Knox of Angier, NC; 10 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22, from Little Phebe Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Charlton County with a Navy Chaplain officiating.

Full military honors and Masonic rites were conducted by the U.S. Navy, Kings Bay and the Nahunta Masonic Lodge #391 F& AM.

Songs were "Amazing Grace," and "Go Rest High on That Mountain."
