BRISTOL - Ruth D. Ackerman, 91, of Summer Street, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Genesis Healthcare Center in Franklin.
She was born in Hebron, the daughter of Cecil and Lura (Butterfield) Davis.
She graduated from Bristol High School and went on to work as a waitress at the Grace Louise and Gilley's restaurants. In later years, she served as secretary for the Bristol Water Department.
Mrs. Ackerman was a member of the Bristol Federated Church, the Bristol Woman's Club and Enterprise Rebekah Lodge 46 of Bristol, and Secretary for the Bristol Water Department.
She was the wife of the late Richard "Dick" Ackerman.
Family members include her daughter, Joanne Poole of Bristol; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, George Davis of Hebron; and nieces and nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by one granddaughter.
Calling hours will not be held.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Homeland Cemetery in Bristol, where the Rev. Douglas Hedstrom will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Newfound Area Nursing Association, 214 Lake St., Bristol 03222; or the Bristol Area Senior Services, earmarked Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 266, Bristol 03222.
