Willie Sue Hacker Gregory, 92, of Athens, died Friday morning, May 30, 2008, at Brookewood Nursing Center.
A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late William and Tennie Hacker Elliott, and was a member of Liberty Church of Christ. She was known and loved by an abundance of friends and acquaintances and was called "Granny" by everyone who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Gregory; one son, Bobby G. Gregory; four sisters; one granddaughter, Tracie Walker; and one grandson, Jason Walker.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Nellie Walker Moss and husband, Randall, of Niota, Carolyn Johnson and husband, Danny Ray, of Athens, and Frankie Sue McConnell of Titusville, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Jason Kennedy and the Rev. Rick Pryor officiating. Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jacob and Joshua Pryor, Jeff and Brook Johnson, Marc Walker and Rick Pryor.
The family received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
