Fred Smith of 202 N. Owen St., Albion, died Saturday (d. 8-1-1981) in McCray Hospital. Born Dec. 13, 1900 in Noble County, he was the son of James and Maude (Mumma) Smith. On Oct. 15, 1927 in Albion he married Helen Gaff. A lifetime Albion area resident and retired plumbing and heating contractor, he was also a retired Albion fireman. Surviving are his wife; 2 daughters, Mrs. David (Mary Lou) Boyd, and Gloria J. of Albion; a sister, Bernice Berkes of Albion; 2 brothers, Byron of Albion and Guy of Texas; and a granddaughter, Connie Marie Boyd. Two brothers and 3 sisters preceded him in death. Services Tuesday in Brazzell Funeral Home. Burial, Sparta Cemetery.
