Daughter of John McKnight Walker and Katherine Allen Rutherford
Mary Walker, her sister Margaret and a brother named Samuel along with an uncle named Thomas Clark, came to America from Ireland. Landing in Charlestown, S.C., they moved to VA. and settled in then developing West--Roanoke. By 1744 Mary had met and married William Adams and within the same year Margaret had married James McCoun. Mary and William had seven children . All of their children were born in Augusta County, VA. and all of them lived a portion of their lives in Mercer County, KY. Mary was living in July of 1786, although she had passed away by the time William made his will on 9 July 1789
