DALLAS, TX- Elizabeth V. Bette Ringle, 88, Dallas, TX, formerly of Topeka, died Friday, January 1, 2010 in Dallas. She was born July 1, 1921 in Chautauqua County, KS, the daughter of Elim and Josephine Fox Darnall. She graduated from Chautauqua, KS High School, Chillicothe Business College, Chillicothe, MO, and later received a MSW from the University of California at Berkeley. Bette served for many years as the director of the Social Welfare Department of Bernalillo County Medical Center (now the University of New Mexico Hospital) in Albuquerque. She was a tireless volunteer for numerous charities including the Arthritis Foundations of New Mexico and Kansas. She lived many years in Albuquerque before moving to Topeka in 1988. The last few years of her life she resided in Dallas. While in Topeka, she was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and currently was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas. There was nothing more important to Bette than her family. She was married to F.A. Del Ringle on May 23, 1943 in Columbus, MS. He died May 23, 1993. She is survived by her son, Brett (Sue) Ringle of Dallas; her daughter, Janet Ringle-Bartels, of Midland, MI; her grandsons, James Bartels, Matthew Bartels, and Kyle Ringle; her sisters, Ruby Alford of Topeka, Twila Boyer of Palmyra, MO and Nedra Holroyd of Topeka; her brother Walter Darnall of Sedan, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Chautauqua, KS. Interment will be in El Cado Cemetery, south of Peru in Chautauqua County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chautauqua Memorial Park, and sent in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N.
