Rebecca Sue Kaiser, was the only child born to F. Maxine née Phelps and George W. Kaiser. Her father George, who was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps, was tragically killed six months prior to her birth, while he was on a stateside training mission. The horrific event occurred, when the A-20 "Havoc" bomber (in which he was serving as a member of the four man crew), collided with another aircraft killing all onboard. Her widowed mother, married Lt. David M. Hunt, just before Rebecca's first birthday, and he helped lovingly raise her as one of his own. In 1952, she moved with her family to Springfield, Missouri. She graduated from Parkview High School in 1960. She next attended William Woods College for two years, and then obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 1964. She was joined in marriage to Larry Ward on October 17, 1963, and their union produced at one child. She worked for the Missouri Department of Social Services for 32 years, and directed the Support Enforcement Division. She was survived by her husband Larry, their daughter Geri Sue, as well as her mother, step-father, three step-sisters, and a step-brother. (Bio by: Jay Lance)
