Leland Henry Snyder, 72, of Bridgeland, died Nov. 11 at Stewart's Convalescent Villa in Roosevelt from cancer.
He was born March 21, 1905, at Craig, Colo., to Chancey Elanca and Sarah Hanna Crapo Snyder. He married Lenora Jane Rhodes in May of 1924 in Duchesne. She died in 1969. He married Margaret Mildred McCarrel Baldwin on Feb. 7, 1973.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter-day Saints. He worked for a number of years for the Carnegie Institute in archeology explorations in this area and was a farmer for many years.
Survivors include his wife, of Bridgeland; three sons and a daughter, Lloyd Emerson Snyder of Yuma, Ariz., Don Chancey Snyder of Cedar City, Glen Howard Snyder of Provo, and Mrs. Earl (Sadie) Knight of Bridgland; stepchildren Earl Odell Baldwin, Kuna, Idaho, Mrs. Albert (Mary Louise) Taylor of Stites, Idaho, Mrs. Ross (Luella) Jackson of Fillmore, Edward Curtis Baldwin of St. Anthony, Idaho, Mrs. Art (Dorothy) Job of Anaconda, Mont., Mrs. Jay (Leona) Balbi of St. Regis, Mont., Lalani Robbins of Boise, Idaho and Raymond Scott Baldwin of Pennsylvania; 22 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and brothers Ruben C. Snyder of Neola and Robert A. Snyder of Rico, Colo.
Burial in the Myton Cemetery.
