Funeral for George Durward Murrish, 69, who died Thursday, will be 4 pm Sunday in the Newhart Family Garden Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Charles N. Gibbs of the First Christian Church officating.
Further services will be Wednesday in the Nelson Mortuary in Kearney, Nebraska with burial there.
Friends may visit the Newhart Family today until 9 pm and Sunday from 11 am until service time.
Mr. Murrish was born April 27, 1903, in Mason City, Nebraska. He resided at 632A E. Chapel.
For more than 40 years he worked as a tester in telephone communications. He last worked as a chief tester for the Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Co., in Nebraska.
He was a member and past master of Midwest Masonic Lodge 317, AF&AM, Hastings, Nebraska. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner in Hastings, a memeber of the Santa Maria Shrine Club and past master of the Kiddsh Consistory in Hastings.
Survivors include his widow Reta, two daughters, Mrs. Donna F. Kaiser of Santa Maria, and Mrs. Virginia L. Mason of Escondido; two brothers, Orlo Murrish of Kearney and Walter H. Murrish of Leawood, Kansas, three sisters, Mrs. Verla E. Lapp and Mrs. Kathryn B. Rusmisell, both of Kearney, and Mrs. Maryelaine Cushing of Lincoln, Neb.; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
