Bro. Jerry House, 79, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Saturday, January 2, 2010, at the Tishomingo Community Living Center in Iuka. He was a member of Burgess Creek Freewill Baptist Church and also attended Fairview Community Church where he taught Sunday School for several years. He was a former Baptist minister at several area churches throughout the years. He retired from Reynolds Metals after 27 years of service, and was a former Board member of the Short Coleman Park Water Association. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time.
Visitation is scheduled for 4 until 8 PM on Sunday, January 3 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM on Monday, January 4, 2010, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Malcolm Garrett, Bro. Steve Hodgin, and Bro. Dwight South. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Jerry Lynn House, Terry House, Chase House, Chris Gray, Josh Hodgin, and Cory Wilson. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Annette House of Iuka, MS; 2 sons – Jerry Lynn House (Diane) of Iuka, MS and Terry House (Tammy) of Spartanburg, SC; 2 daughters – Carolyn Morgan of Iuka , MS and Lisa Hodgin (Steven) of Sevierville, TN; 1 sister – Earline Messner (Billy) of Tishomingo, MS; 10 grandchildren – Selina, Chase, Cory, Brooklyn, Logan, Christopher, Pamela, Kevin, Josh, and Kelsey; and 7 great grandchildren – Madelyne, Zane, Gracie, Alex, Morgan, Emma, and Lee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Ethel House; and 2 brothers, Audie House and Arvil House.
