An Old Resident of this County Who Died This Morning.
Seth Marvin, one of the oldest residents of the town of Southport, died shortly after midnight last night of pneumonia. He was nearly eighty-one years of age and had lived in the town of Southport nearly all hs life, having been born, lived and died on one farm. He will also be buried of the farm. Mr. Marvin was a son of Archibald Marvin, who came to this county about ninety years ago and bought all the land on the flats between Pine City and State Line. The wife of the deceased died about two years ago. Of his immediate family he is survived by a sister, Miss [Mrs.] Julia Beckwith, of Pine City, and one son, Lyman, of this city and one daughter, Mrs. Sherman Tanner of Webb Mills. He was also the father of Edward Marvin, who was overseer of the poor in Elmira and died about two and a half years ago. The funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the home of D.A. Gaylord, near Pine City. The deceased was one of the best known men in the county and was held in great respect by all who knew him.
