An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Thursday, November 15, 1973:

Funeral services for Mill A. Ward, 91, of State School Road, Gatesville, were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Gatesville Funeral Home chapel. The rites were conducted by Rev. Jerry Raines, and burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mr. Ward died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday in the local hospital.
A retired farmer, he was a native and lifelong resident of Coryell County.
His wife, Mrs. Ernestine Ward, died in March, 1971.
Mr. Ward is survived by a daughter, Miss Lorena Ward of Gatesville; two sons, Nesbit L. Ward of Gatesville and James W. Ward of Chickasha, Okla.; one brother, Sam Ward of Gatesville; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond Ward and Aldon Ward.
Pallbearers for Mr. Ward's funeral were Allen Graham, Gordon Graham, C. R. Fisher, Ray Byrom, Earl Bond and Lloyd Logan.
