Funeral services for Mrs. J. W. Blackford, aged 79, who passed away at 6 p.m. Saturday at her home in Albany, were conducted on Tuesday afternoon at 1:15 in the home and at 1:30 in the Baptist Church. Rev. H. A. Erickson officiated. Burial was made in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Juda.
Death came to Mrs. Blackford following a lingering illness of seven years. She had been bedridden five weeks.
Miranda Ann Roderick, daughter of Andrew and Lydia Roderick, was born in Juda Nov. 11, 1847. She was married in Juda May 11, 1876 to J. W. Blackford. They lived in Juda 25 years and have since resided in and around Albany.
Surviving are the widower, four daughters, Mrs. Wallace Staley, of Brooklyn, Mrs. Ned Humphrey, of Belleville, Miss Clella, at home, Miss Grace, who is supervisiing teacher at Sheboygan Falls and six grandchildren.
The deceased was a member of the Baptist church, W.C.T.U., Ladies Aid society and the Baptist missionary society.
