Funeral services for Mrs. Richard (Alberta) Slaugh were conducted January 10 in the Vernal Fifth Ward LDS Chapel by Bishop Don Brown.

The family prayer was offered by James L. Hardman. Virginia Ewell played the prelude and postlude music.

Invocation was given by Vaughn Mott, a grandson. The opening song, "That Beautiful Land", was sung by Virginia Ewell and LaRae Caldwell, accompanied by Eva Hatch. The first speaker was Bishop Garth Atwood, a nephew. He was followed by a duet, "Lay My Head Beneath A Rose", sung by Dorothy Peltier and Daun White, accompanied by Eva Hatch. Warren Richardsen, a brother-in-law, was the concluding speaker. The closing song, "Beyond the Sunset", was sung by Dorothy Peltier and Daun White, accompanied by Eva Hatch. Benediction was offered by Niles Mott, a grandson. Dr. Lynn H. Slaugh, a son, dedicated the grave in the Vernal Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were all grandchildren of the deceased, Glen, Dennis and DeLoy Slaugh, Max and Merlin Mott and Miles Roberts.

The Vernal Fifth Ward Relief Society was in charge of the floweres and other arrangements.

Mrs. Slaugh died in the Uintah County Hospital January 8, following a brief illness which resulted from a fall.

She was born April 16, 1893 in South Cottonwood, Salt Lake County, Utah to Henry Lawrence and Amorett Lucy Williams Green. At the age of two she came to Uintah County with her parents and lived in Davis Ward where she attended school and community affairs. When a young woman, she moved to Maeser and was married to Richard John Slaugh on June 9, 1910. This marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, October 12, 1910.

Mrs. Slaugh was a member of the Utah Daughters of PioneersCamp Tokawana. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served many years as a visiting teacher in the Relief Society.

She was employed for sometime by Uintah County Hospital as a nurses aide and following the death of her husband on June 3, 1952 she owned and operated her own apartment business,

She is survived by the following sons and daughters, Ivan and Mervin Slaugh, Doris Mott and Mrs. Melvin (Bernice) Burke, Vernal; Wayne Slaugh, Salt Lake City; Dr. Lynn H. Slaugh, Houston, Texas; twenty-three grandchildren, fifty-two great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, three sisters, Arlean Chivers, Mrs. Warren (Evvyln) Richardson, Vernal; Eliza Williams, Pueblo, Colorado.

The following family members from out-of-town attended the services, Sharon Birchell, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Abegglen, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Yack, Roosevelt; Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Robb, Kay Rasmussen, Whiterocks; Mrs. Howard (Fern) Collett, Lapoint; Mr. and Mrs. Miles Roberts.
