James Jasper Theus served in Co C 59th Ga Inf. He enlisted May 10, 1862 and was appointed Color Corporal September 1863. He was captured at Mine Run, Va. May 9, 1864 and received at Ft. Deleware, Del, May 21, 1864. He was paroled March 7, 1865 and exchanged at Cox's Wharves, James River, Va. March 10-12, 1865.
