Mrs. Elisha Mercer, 82, a native of Appling County where she spent most of her life, died Tuesday night Aug 8, at her home near Alma, following an extended illness.
She was a member of the New Congregational Methodist Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by five sons, Emory, W.C. and J.L. Mercer of Alma and J.B. and L.E. Mercer of Nicholls, also three daughters, Mrs. J.A. Turner, Sr., Mrs. C.W. Hesters and Mrs. J.A. Crowley, of Alma.
Funeral Services were held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at the residence near Alma, conducted by Dr. J.W. McMahan. Interment was at the family burial ground.
