Your note about Marion/Darlington. Marion was separate from Darlington. In 1889, Parts of Darlington and Parts of Marion, also parts of Clarendon County became Florence County. In 1912, Florence took parts of Williamsburg, Lake City area down to Johnsonville, apparently about the time that area was trying to create its own county but failed by a very few votes. The Harrell/Blackwell names come from the area that would have been Marion before 1890, in the Pamplico area. From Don Pigate [email protected]
