Mrs. Joseph Pulitzer, 78, widow of the founder of the present New York World at Deauville, France. She, once Miss Kate Davis of Georgetown, D.C., was a cousin of President Jefferson Davis of the Southern Confederacy. To the last her remarkable beauty mellowed rather than waned and she was of the elect among United States hostesses in Europe possessing superb homes in Nice and Deauville.
