Dominique Nicole Harris (Nicole) was called home to be with the Lord at the tender age of fourteen at 12 midnight on Sunday, September 20, 2009, at Cook children's Hospital in Fort Worth. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Community Church, 826 Hickory, with Reverend Michael Thompson, Founder Patricia Turner and Conductor, Reverend Sharon Westly officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. Dominique was born on October 6, 1994, in Abilene, Texas to Debra Harris and the late Ezell Birmingham. She was a member of Out Of The Darkness Comes The Light Ministry and was baptized at the age of 10. She attended Abilene public schools and was in the 8th grade at Mann Middle school. She was very quiet, loving and very loving in the right setting. She loved Madea and could imitate her very well. She loved to run and was very fast. She loved the youth group at First United Methodist as well as her own youth group at her church, especially the puppet that she worked with, Dominique loved having her cousin, Troy, dance for her. Dominique became ill 6 ½ years ago but the last 2 months were very rough for her. She still maintained a great sense of humor and a caring spirit while in pain. She told her mother while she was in great pain: "what about Casper, he's going to be hungry" (because we were all at the hospital with her). She fought courageously as long as she could. Finally close to the end, Dr. Davis and her staff fought hard for her but the Lord said that's enough, I'll take her from here. She left us broken hearted but with sweet memories. Dominique leaves to mourn her passing, her devoted mother who fought with her through all the years until the end, Reverend Debra Harris; two sisters, Lakeyia Thompson and Jessica Harris; two half sisters, Tamecki Gentry and Jasmine Walker; three half brother, Marcus Outland, Cameron Walker and Korie Walker; paternal grandmother, Ruby Hanes of Ft. Worth; maternal grandmother, Evang.
