The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Sandy Run Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, will be in Cricketville Cemetery.
Mr. Altman was born in Hampton County, a son of John E. Altman and Iva Smith Altman. He was a member of Crocketville Masonic Lodge No 248. He was a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Cope Altman; a son, Jerome B. Altman of Hampton, a brother, Hugh D. Altman of Hampton; three sisters, Blanche Winstrad and Vernell Ulmer, both of Hampton, and Eunive Thomas of Fairfax; and two grandchildren.
