Husband of Christina Louisa FOUGHT - married Apr 26, 1891 in Searcy County, Arkansas
The Mountaineer Echo, October 24, 1929:
'Wild cat whiskey and a ready pistol has been the cause of another death in Tomahawk township, in Searcy County, on Wednesday evening of last week. The victim, Elijah Keeling, was shot to death by his nephew, Hutton Lawrence, near Keelings' home, five miles east of St. Joe. It is said that both men, who had been drinking freely, had always been good friends. It is said that Keeling was known to be quarrelsome when drinking, but was never known to carry firearms and was unarmed when killed. After the killing Lawrence went across a field and informed a friend as to what had happened, and then fled into the woods. The sheriff was notified, a posse was formed and the man hunt was on. Lawrence was captured late Wednesday night and lodged in jail at Marshall. He says the killing was accidental.'
