Arthur F. Stanley, 85, of Sullivan, passed away at 5:24 a.m. Monday December 21, 2009 at Breckenridge Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Chicago, Illinois, September 19, 1924, the son of Frank Stanionis and Anna Krucas Stanionis. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sullivan, Arthur worked in the radio business for 51 years, beginning as an announcer, culminating in the management and ownership of WNDI in Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his parents, also one brother, Nayron Stanionis, and one sister, Lillian Widmer. Survivors include his wife, Jean Powers Stanley, three daughters, Sabrina Stanley (Steve Howarth) of Castle Rock, Co., Lissa Fairfield (Bill) of Crawfordsville, IN., and Ann Stanley of Crawfordsville, IN., one sister Ruth Schwan of McHenry, Ill., six grandchildren, Garrett Stanley, Bret and Derek Stanley-Howarth, Victoria, William, and Thomas Fairfield, numerous sisters and brothers in-law, and a large extended family in Lithuania. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00AM Wednesday December 23, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sullivan with Father Frank Renner officiating. Interment in the Center Ridge Cemetery.
