Debra B. Harlan, 53, Wabash, died at 1:40 p.m., Monday, July 14,2008, at Miller's Merry Manor East.

She was born July 15, 1954, in Wabash, to Merle and Jackie (Working) Ellis. Debra married Gary L. Harlan in Clintwood, Va., on May 28, 1985. She was a member of St. Matthew's United Church of Christ and was a special education teaching assistant at Wabash High School. She loved bingo, doing crafts and being with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Gary L. Harlan, Wabash; father and stepmother, Merle (Barbara) Ellis, Wa bash; three daughters, Jennifer R. (Brent) Johnson, Noblesville, Jennifer L. (Bryan) Whitaker and Chelsie L. (Scott) Stumbo, both of Wabash; two sons, Matt A. (Nichole) Culver, Wabash, and Gary L. Harlan, Jr., Richmond; 10 grandchildren, Sydney Johnson, Noblesville, Brieanna Culver, Wabash, Taylor Whitaker, Wabash, Shelby Johnson, Noblesville, Jordan Stumbo, Wabash, Samuel Johnson, Noblesville, Jade Stumbo, Wabash, Janika Stumbo, Wabash, Mya Whitaker, Wabash, and Braxton Culver, Wabash; two stepbrothers, Clint (Juliann) Sluss and Jim Sluss, both of Wabash; and her best friend, her Doberman, Chloe.

Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, on Friday, July 18, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Kent Young will officiate. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at the funeral home.
