Melva M. Baker. 48, widow of Earl M. Baker, 333 Northfield Ave., died suddenly at noon Saturday at her summer home at Pen Mar. She had undergone surgery three years ago and had recovered fully and was in good health. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage.
She was born at Waynesboro R. D. 4 August 4, 1915, a daughter of the late Howard H. and Josephine (Bartle) Hollingsworth. She had lived all of her life in the Waynesboro area and at her last residence since 1942. Following the death of her husband in 1939 she worked for a short time
at a restaurant in Hagerstown. Mrs. Baker is survived by three children: Mrs. William Morgan,
George F. Baker and Earl M. Baker Jr., Waynesboro; seven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Helen Patterson, Waynesboro, and four brothers, Charles Hollingsworth, Robert Hollingsworth, Leroy Hollingsworth and Harry Hollingsworth, all of Waynesboro.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Grove Funeral Home in charge of the
Rev. Herbert J. Hoover. Burial will be made in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the
funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
