HENRIETTA FUSCH

Henrietta Fusch was born in Illinois on February 21, 1848, and passed away at her home in Union township, Lucas county, Iowa, on May 4, 1929, at the advanced age of 81 years, 3 months and 1 day.

Previous to the Civil War the family moved to Hickman, Kentucky, and in 1864 they moved back to the state of Illinois and in 1872 she came to Lucas county, Iowa, where she has since resided.

She had been in ill health since 1874, and made her home with her brother, Charles, who has cared for her. She was able to assist in the household duties part of the time.

When she was about 18 years old she was converted and united with the Baptist church at Atlanta, Ill., and in coming to Iowa she brought her letter and placed her membership with the Goshen church and had been a member of that body the remainder of her life.

The disease that she had been fighting a hard battle with, made a rapid claim on her, and for about four days it became so severe that the poor mortal had to yield to its claim and the spirit wended its way to the immortal world. She was patient in all her afflictions, although her suffering was severe at times.

She leaves to mourn her departure four brothers, W. B., of Twin Bridges, Mont.; Joseph, of San Francisco, California; John, of San Jose, California; and Charles, of Derby, Iowa; also five half-brothers, Judd and Warney, of Lincoln, Ill.; Alva and Melvin, of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Ralph, of Northern California, and a half-sister, Corene, of Long Beach, California, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

She was fond of the messages in God's word and was a real Bible student. Much of her time was spent in reading and studying it. It was her chief aim to do service for the Master and to labor in the realm of his Kingdom. It can truthfully be said that a good servant has gone to reap her reward.

Funeral services were conducted from the M. E. church of Derby by Rev. M. S. Clark on Sunday, May 5, at 2 p.m. and interment was made in the Derby cemetery. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of a large circle of friends.
