Junior was the son of the late Lilburn& Sophia Begley Woods. He was a ife long resident of Leslie County & was a self employed carpentr, former Deputy Sheriff & Deputy Jaier for the Leslie County Fiscal Court. He was Veteran of the US Army & enjoyed reading his Bible, carpentry work & spending time with family & friends. Junior was a member of the Rockhouse Baptist Church in Hyden, KY.
Junior was preceded in death by; his parents, Lilburn & Sophia Begley Woods; 2 sons, roger Dean & Roy Allen Woods; 1 daghter, Noreen Francis Woods.
He leaves the followin surviving relativs; his loving & devoted wife Billie Woods; 1 son Marvin & Gena Woods of Ossego, Michigan; 1 grand daughter, Keeley Woods of Michigan; 2 brothers, Charles David Woods of Arkansas and Alexander Wood of Indiana; 3 sisters, Delana Bills of Indiana, Martha Kemp of Indiana & Betty Jean Reaker of Indiana. Junior also leaves many loving relatives & friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation for Lilbur Junior Woods will be held Wednesday November 11 at 6 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home at Hyden, KY. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday November 12, 2009 at the Funeral Home Chapel with Ray Wison offiiating. Burial will take place in the Woods Cemetery at Hell For Certan in Leslie County KY under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funera Home Staff. Military Rites will be observed by th Leslie County DAV Chapter #133.
