The son of Moses & Frances (McKinney) Burris of Rowan Co NC, late of Sugar Creek, Hancock Co IN, Daniel married as his second wife, Margaret Ann Arnett on 12 Mar 1840 in Hancock Co IN.

Children with Margaret:
1) Nancy Ann Burris (1844-1924); m1. Henry Allen England (1837-1865); m2. Oregon M Snider (1846-1923).
2) Esther Burris (b, 1845).
3) Amanda E Burris (1846-1870), m: William Sargent.
