Indian Campaigns Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He entered the US Army at Boston, Massachusetts. He served as a Private in Company D, 7th US Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for action on June 25, 1876 at Little Big Horn, Montana. His citation reads "Voluntarily brought water to the wounded under fire".
