Indian Campaigns Medal of Honor Recipient. He entered the US Army at Chicago, Illinois. He served as a Sergeant in Company G, 1st US Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for action on October 20, 1869 at Chiricahua Mountains, Arizona Territory. His citation reads "Bravery in action with Indians".
