Mark B. Cox Zionsville, passed away December 31, 2009 at the age of 91. He was the son of Bert and Ollie Cox of Indianapolis. A 1937 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, he married Jean J. Kendrick in 1939 in a double ceremony in which Mark's brother Eugene married Jean's twin sister, Barbara. The family lived in single homes, doubles, duplexes, and side-by-side condominiums in order to maintain the closeness of the two Cox families. Eugene, Barbara, and Mark's beloved Jean preceded Mark in death. Mark's career was diverse and included being a firefighter at Ft. Benjamin Harrison to eventually running a retail merchandising, mail-order business with his brother Eugene. Their enterprise was appropriately known as Cox Brothers. When Eugene passed away, Mark continued to run the business until he reached the age of 72. He enjoyed using his cell phone to keep in touch with family and friends. He was very appreciative of Judy Hunneycutt's thoughtfulness, such as taking him for rides in her convertible. Mark's buddy, Yellow Cat, niece Janet, and her husband Franklin will sincerely miss Uncle Mark. They respect his desire to try, even when the odds were bleak. Mark and Jean had the love of their life, the gift of their son Mark Michael Cox, who predeceased Mark. Mark Michael and his wife Rhonda had three lovely children, Marnie (Andy), Allen, Michael Christian (Chrissy) and Elizabeth (Craig). He was blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Allen's Isabell, Caroline, Ava, and Katherine; Jansen's Ryan, Owen, Drew, and Bennett and most recently the arrival of Abby Cox. Mark is also survived by his niece, Janet (Dr. Franklin) Daskalos, with whom Mark lived for the last twelve years.
