She was born April 24, 1941 in Douglas County, GA the daughter of the late Mr. James Paul Hay and the late Mrs. Gladys Willie Deal Hay.~
She was a member of County Line Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Volunteer and served in Vacation Bible School. She worked for the Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department as an Administrative Assistant. She was a member of the Georgia Softball Hall of Fame and received numerous awards and trophies. She was a founder of the first women's softball league for Douglas County. She was very involved and supported the Special Olympics. She was a member of the Douglas/Cobb Mental Health Regional Board. She enjoyed gardening and bowling. She loved Christmastime and was a devoted grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Elaine Thompson. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, ....; three daughters and sons-in-law, ....; one son, ....; one brother, ....; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. ~
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 2:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor David McLendon officiating. ~
