Marion Maurice Palmer was born in Norton county (sic), Kansas on August 14, 1906, and departed this life after a brief illness in Belleville, Kan., April 14, 1936.
When four years of age, with his parents, he moved to Thayer county (sic), Nebraska, where he remained until the spring of 1920 when he removed to Republic county (sic), Kansas, where he resided until the time of his passing.
On June 2, 1931, he was united in marriage with Miss Hazel Grace Woodward, who preceded him in death on February 14, 1933. To this union was born one son, Duane Eugene. During the past three years Marion's sister Ruth has rendered a beautiful service in helping him maintain the home.
Marian became a christian and united with the local Christian church (sic) when sixteen years of age. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and attained his Past Mastership during the early part of this year. He was a young christian whose faith was sorely tried, but his faith sustained him in the time of his great need. He was a loving father, a devoted son, a true brother and a loyal friend. Too soon his life among us is finished, but we believe it is to be renewed in the land where there is no night or death.
In passing he leaves his little son, Duane Eugene, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Edson Palmer, his brothers, Clarence and Clifford of this community, his sisters, Mrs. Mildred Swaney, Viola, Nellie, Grace and Ruth of this vicinity and Mrs. Delcie Nitcher of Plymouth, Iowa.

Rest on, loved one
Life's journey is done,
The goal of life is won.
A heavenly home is thy dwelling place,
And (here) we no more shall see they face.
Your absence brings us inward pain,
But we live on, knowing we shall meet again;
For when in life's pathway we no longer need to roam,
Our Savior, too, shall call us home,
To that beautiful golden shore,
Where loved ones part no more.
