Heman was married to Sarah Ann Wood Harwood in 1863. When Heman died in 1878 on the train back to Buffalo (of complications to Malaria) his widow then married David Henshaw Ward in 1883 in San Francisco. Sarah's mother was also named Sarah Ann Wood Harwood which is the confusion. Heman is my husband's gg grandfather. Heman had two boys: Allen and George Reed. Allen had two boys Thomas and John. Thomas had two daughters.
