James Marion Forgus was a blacksmith, and altho he was not a doctor he would administer to the sick around the country. He served Stonewall county as one of the first Justices of the Peace and was a county Commisioner.

James Marion Forgus married Susie SHARP Dec. 24, 1874 in Loudon, TN. (Source: Tennessee State Marriages online at Ancestry) They lived in Bell County until their move to Stonewall County in 1889.
They had their first child,
a daughter,
Gertie P. No further information. (she is listed on the 1880 census)

Child number two:
Lounetta "Nettie" Forgus Anderson was born June 1, 1879 to James Marion and Susie (SHARP) Forgus. She was married to Patterson L. Anderson.


Child Number three:
James William "Bill" Forgus was born to them in 1881. He was married to Martha Elizabeth "Bessie" AVERY. James William "Bill" Forgus was a Deputy Sheriff at the time of his death in 1921.


Susie Sharp Forgus died in 1883 from childbirth, as did the infant. (They are buried together.)

James Marion Forgus then married SECOND to:
Sally A. Patton in 1885.
