Obituary from The Montana Standard 12/31/2009:

After fighting a yearlong battle with cancer, Vincent Dean Ashley, 47, was called home by our Lord and Savior on Christmas Night Dec. 25, 2009, from his home in Phoenix, Ariz.

Vince was born in Bozeman on Feb. 10, 1962, to Marjorie Brock Clark and Alvin Glen Ashley, but was so wonderfully raised by his grandparents, Luther and Helen Brock in the family home in Three Forks. There, he and his best friends, Bruce, Ward and Dan, became the greatest adventurers this area would ever know and Vince carried those lessons with him throughout his life. Vince graduated from Three Forks High in 1980 and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy for 13 years. He took great pride in his time spent aboard the USS Carl Vinson.

While stationed in the Philippines, he met his first wife Elsa and they began their life together with daughter, Vanessa. When they came to the States, their beautiful daughter Christine joined the family. Vince retired from the navy and started his own trucking business. During this time, Vince's love of aviation drove him to attain his private pilot's license.

On Halloween 2006 Vince saw the most beautiful angel he had ever seen, she was pretending to be a witch. Then and there began the most joyful time of his life. He had met his second wife Tina. She would become the women that would truly stand by his side to the very end.

Vince loved his brothers, Mark and Jason so much and so wanted them to be a part of what he was doing in his life. He had huge dreams of a family business that would include them. Vince loved his sister, Robin so much and enjoyed the time he was able to spend with her and her family.

Vince is survived by his wife, Tina; daughters, Vanessa and Christine; stepdaughter Amy; grandchildren, Ethan, Joshua, Tyler, Patric and Makayla; sister, Robin Sayler; brothers, Mark and Jason Ashley; Aunt Janet, Uncle Don, Uncle Harlen; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Vince requested no services. The family is planning a Montana summer reunion to celebrate Vince's life.
